1.Consultation
Finding the right garden designer is important. That’s why we offer a free ‘chemistry call’ at the outset. It’s a chance to get a feel for one another and establish whether we’re a good fit for you. You can book a call anytime via the contact page.
The next time we meet will be in person. We’ll focus on your needs and preferences and identify the opportunities on-site. A guided conversation will help to identify the project ambitions and inform the brief.
Following the consultation, you’ll receive a report outlining the above with an estimate of the costs involved. This will ensure our shared understanding of the brief and allow you to progress immediately, or at a later date.
— From £60 (later deducted from your design fee)
2. Survey
All design works follow a topographical survey, which maps out the garden and its topography, see left.
A land surveyor may need to be employed for this process if you have a complex or large garden. A simple viewing of the proposed site will determine which level of survey you require.
— From £200
3. Concept designs
Now here’s where things get exciting. You’ll be presented with a considered design concept, including one or more options for the core structure, flow and features of the garden. It will be presented alongside elevation drawings to bring the vision to life.
Our designs are based on the principles of unity and harmony, creating gardens appropriate for the site which complement your home and surroundings.
Your input is highly regarded and we’ll have an open discussion which will inform the following stages.
Next, we can drill down on the detail. Following your feedback, you’ll receive a detailed outline plan with material specifications to ensure your project works for your budget.
— From £685
4. Planting & features
Planting plans are created based on client and designer discussions and the principle of ‘right plant, right place’ - selecting plants that will thrive in site conditions.
It goes without saying that the plants we select are hard-working and support biodiversity, as well as looking beautiful and providing essential structure or privacy.
Detailed construction drawings are also provided for features such as pools, steps, walls, and pergolas.
— Planting from £250, construction drawings, if required, at an hourly rate
5. Time to build
We’ll help you to find a trusted landscaper and work with them to achieve the vision.
A construction package will be created. This includes sufficient instruction and detail, allowing a contractor to quote for and build the project. We’ll remain on hand through the build and until the garden is well established.
We can also provide a report on the embodied carbon of a project and when the established greenery will be net-positive.
— From £225
